Charity Nature Vibezzz is restarting free family nature activities at Knights Hill Wood (near new West Norwood Fire Station) on Saturday 27th April 2019. The activity session will run 2pm to 4pm and everyone is invited to join the fun activities aimed at families.
Nature Vibezzz ran a free family nature activity in Knights Hill Wood 2pm to 4pm on Saturday 9th February 2019.
This free session involved lots of activities for the participants including litter picking, picking up pine cones for the bug hotel, colouring, making animal masks, building up dead hedge to protect emerging wildflowers planted by participants on previous sessions, rope swing, chopping wood and outdoor cooking.

2pm to 4pm Saturday 26th January 2019 Nature Vibezzz ran a free family nature activity in Knights Hill Wood, West Norwood.
The activity started with litter picking and free play in the woodland including making animal masks, insect hunting, climbing rope and rope swing.
The session activity involved participants using green material that had been dumped at the site to build up the dead hedge made on previous activities. The dead hedge provides a habitat for wildlife and protects plants in the wildflower glade created by children on previous sessions.
The session finished with hot chocolate, cookies and strawberries.
The next free Nature Vibezzz project session will be 2pm to 4pm Saturday 2nd February 2019.
Charity Nature Vibezzz free Saturday afternoon family activities restarted 2pm to 4pm Saturday 19th January 2019. These free activity sessions are part of Nature Vibezzz community project “Memories, Heritage and Community of Knights Hill Woods and Tivoli Park”.
This first session of 2019 started with participants litter picking Knights Hill Wood, followed by planting tree saplings on the boundary of the site to create a wildlife hedge and insect hunting.
The participants then enjoyed free play around the woodland site including enjoying the rope swing. The session finished with hot chocolate and cake.
The next session will be 2pm to 4pm Saturday 26th January 2019.
Nature Vibezzz ran the last Saturday activity session of 2018 at Knights Hill Wood on 8th December 2018. The session involved planting native tree saplings around the boundary of Knight Hill Wood to continue the creation of the boundary wildlife hedge. The hedge will help protect the site from people dumping litter, help reduce pollution and create a wildlife habitat.
The session started with litter picking the woodland site. Our project film volunteers came and filmed some of the activity and the children also used cameras to make photos and films. The children took turns playing on the rope swing and around the woods.
The session finished with veggie sausages and burgers cooked on a campfire and enjoyed by everyone.
Nature Vibezzz free Saturday family nature activities will restart in the new year 2pm to 4pm Saturday 19th January 2019.

2pm to 4pm Saturday 1st December 2018 Nature Vibezzz ran a free family nature activity in Knights Hill Wood, West Norwood, Lameth.
The session started with children bug hunting, playing around the site, enjoying rope swing and colouring. Then the participants helped litter pick the site with 4 sacks of rubbish removed.
Follwing the litter picking the children helped plant a section of wildlife hedge around the boundary of the woodland site. The wildlife hedge which consists of native tree saplings will grow to benefit local wildlife, help reduce litter and help reduce pollution including reducing noise pollution from traffic.
The session finished with healthy snack and hot chocolate.
Nature Vibezzz will be back in Knights Hill Wood next week 2pm to 4pm Saturday 8th December 2018, this will be our last Saturday activity this year. The sessions will restart Saturday 19th January 2019.
2pm to 5pm Saturday 17th November 2018 Nature Vibezzz ran a free family nature activity in Knights Hill Wood, West Norwood, London. The session started with participants litter picking the woods.
Rope swing, climbing rope, bug hunting equipment and drawing materials was made available for the children to use and enjoy during the session.
Native woodland tree saplings was planted around boundary of the woods by the participants, the trees came from Woodland Trust free tree packs which included Hazel, Blackthorn, Downy birch, Hawthorn, Holly, Goat willow Crab apple and Dog rose trees. The tree saplings will grow up to form a boundary wildlife hedge which will support native wildlife and help prevent littering / fly tipping at the site.
The session finished with participants roasting and eating a healthy fruit kebabs and having hot chocolate. The fruit kebabs was roasted on a campfire with participants chopping wood for the fire.
On our next activity starting 2pm Saturday 24th November 2018 will be in Tivoli Park after Friends of Tivoli Park AGM meeting in West Norwood Fire Station, please come and join us.
