Sowing wildflower meadow seeds & making bird feeders

2pm to 4pm Saturday 6th April 2019 Nature Vibezzz ran a free family activity session in Tivoli Park, West Norwood.

The session involved the participants preparing the soil in the wildflower meadow area and sowing wildflower seeds mixed with sand over the area. Participants then made bird feeders which they hung up on trees and shrubs in the park.

The session finished with the participants helping to make fire to hot drinking chocolate and melting chocolate to dip fruit in.

Familes help improve Tivoli Park for local wildlife

2pm to 4pm Saturday 30th March 2019 Nature Vibezzz ran a free family nature activity in Tivoli Park, West Norwood.

During the session participants finished work on the wildlife hedge along the boundary of the park. The wildlife hedge consists of native tree saplings which will grow to benefit local wildlife providing a new habitat and food source. The hedge will also help reduce pollution including reducing noise pollution from traffic.

Work was continued on the wildflower meadow in the park which will be a heart shape and surrounded by logs. The session finished with a heathly fruit snack.

Planting wildlife hedge, wild flower meadow creation & other free activities in Tivoli Park

2pm to 4pm Saturday 16th March 2019 Nature Vibezzz ran a free family nature activity session in Tivoli Park, West Norwood.

The session involved planting tree saplings to create a wildlife hedge, digging logs in place for border of wild flower meadow, making animal masks, bug hunting, rope climbing & swings.

The session finished with a healthy fruit snack and juice drink.

Next Saturday 2pm to 4pm Saturday 23rd March 2019 we shall continue planting the wildlife hedge and preparing the area for the wild flower meadow. Please come and help us make a real impact to Tivoli Park.

Lots of free woodland activities at Knights Hill Wood in West Norwood

Nature Vibezzz ran a free family nature activity in Knights Hill Wood 2pm to 4pm on Saturday 9th February 2019.

This free session involved lots of activities for the participants including litter picking, picking up pine cones for the bug hotel, colouring, making animal masks, building up dead hedge to protect emerging wildflowers planted by participants on previous sessions, rope swing, chopping wood and outdoor cooking.

Preparing area for wildflowers and chocolate fruit kebabs

2pm to 4pm Saturday 20th October 2018 Nature Vibezzz ran a free family nature activity in Knights Hill Wood West Norwood Lambeth London. The activity involved preparing an area of the woodland which has been surround by a deadhedge for wildflower seed and bulb planting. Preparing the area involved removing unwanted plants, green waste and litter from the area. All the children and adults helped and the area is now ready for planting on a future activity.

Other activities for children included rope climbing, rope swing, colouring, making animal masks, playing around the woodland, litter picking, photography and bug hunting.

After all the hard work the participants whittled sticks using knifes and peelers for their fruit kebabs and chopped wood for making a fire to melt chocolate.  Once the sticks was prepared and the chocolate melted over the fire, everyone enjoyed their fruit chocolate treat.

Free Family nature activities in Knights Hill Wood this Saturday 2pm to 4pm

Nature Vibezzz will be running free family nature activities 2pm to 4pm in Knights Hill Wood, West Norwood (near West Norwood Fire Station), Lambeth, London on Saturday 21st & 28th September 2018.

Activities for all ages will including mending wooden fencing, rope climbing & swings, making dead hedge, litter picking, preparing ground for wild flower woodland glade, outdoor woodland play and much more.

Come join in the fun and do something for the community at the same time.

 

Families making dead hedge to protect wild flowers

2pm to 5pm Saturday 23rd June 2018 Nature Vibezzz ran a nature conservation activity in Knights Hill Wood. The activity focused on installing posts around the wildflower area to make a permanent dead hedge to protect the flowers. The dead hedge will also create a habiat of it’s own for insects and other creatures helping to further increase the biodiversity of the site. Particpants of all ages took part in digging and filling the holes for the new posts. Particiapnts also litter picked the site removing 2 sacks of rubbish.

The children also enjoyed colouring, bug hunting and a rope swing. The session finished with a healthy snack that included fruit and veggie sausages cooked on a camp fire.
